"PERFECTION"An ideal venue"A HIDDEN GEM" Le Gothique on Wansdworth Common was London’s first genuine gastropub when it opened in 1987.  The restaurant , bar and gardens are located within the glorious Royal Victoria Patriotic Building. The turrets, spires and towers of this spectacular landmark building is South London’s most historic building. Whether you are looking for a romantic table for two, planning a birthday celebration, a memorable and affordable location for your wedding or just fancy a pint….. this is THE place to seek out and find. The much over used term “Hidden Gem” really is appropriate. The “secret garden” situated internally within the building  is most certainly London’s best al freco dining experience. Proprietor Mark Justin, along with his son Andrew and General Manager Elliot Baker are industry specialists in event management. While Head Chef Rafal and sous chef Marek, provide clockwork efficiency and Gallic style to the kitchen. HISTORY The Royal Victoria Patriotic Building 1857 was originally a purpose built orphanage for the dependents of daughters of soldiers killed in the Crimean War. But service as a 1st World War hospital and 2nd World War detention centre and “spy school” make this imposing structure a truly historic building.Today luxury apartments, workshops, studios and a Drama School (ALRA) occupy the former orphanage with a ghostly past.So why not visit a piece of history on your own doorstep.                              Back to top
